Today, it's completely normal to learn French, Japanese, or Flemish Sign Language. But did you know that less than a century ago, this was very different?
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, the city guides of Leuven+ have created the walk Leuven In All Languages. During this tour, you'll travel through the history of language education in Leuven. You'll hear stories about professors who taught themselves Chinese and Arabic, about Polish students, the reception of Hungarian refugees, and about textbooks from Leuven that made their way all the way to Paris.
This unique walk offers a fresh perspective on Leuven as a city of languages, education, and intercultural encounters.
